As a biomedical informatician, Dr. Alex Bui's cancer research encompasses the use of imaging and other observational data (e.g., from electronic health records, EHRs) to develop predictive models for cancer screening, diagnosis, and prognosis. He has also conducted key research in areas related to cancer data models, clinical decision support / visualization, and patient engagement through EHR portals. His work includes the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-based methods including machine and reinforcement learning techniques to establish insights and optimize the delivery of care, with past and current work in the areas of lung and brain cancer.
