Moira Inkelas, PhD, MPH, earned her doctorate in public policy at the RAND Graduate School and her MPH at UCLA, where she is assistant professor-in-residence in the School of Public Health. Dr. Inkelas' research is primarily been concerned with children's access to health care, tailoring managed care and health care financing policies to the needs of children with chronic illness, the affect of systems on quality and performance, measuring quality of care, and quality improvement. Dr. Inkelas serves as assistant director for the Center for Health Equity. She recently received funding from the California HealthCare Foundation to evaluate care coordination for children with special health care needs in California's Medicaid-managed care plans. Funding from the Medi-Cal Policy Institute supports her analysis of new state-level survey data on health care access for chronically ill children and a new survey of Los Angeles parents with chronically ill children.
